Bankroll Management
How you do anything is how you do everything.
A phrase we've all heard. Do you hit the gym? Do you track your workouts? How's your diet? Do you track what you eat on a weekly basis?
All these necessities of life require some sort of 'systemized' approach; and the more efficient and consistent you are at following these programs, the better your life gets.
So let's get to the point here, if you aren't already, you need to be following a profitable betting system and tracking your bets consistently; on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis. If you don't want to do that, you can stop reading here.
Here are a couple phrases a losing sports bettor often says..
“I only bet games I watch”
“I only bet for entertainment to make the game more interesting”
“I only bet on sports / teams I know something about”
Let us ask; have those beliefs been profitable for you thus far in your life? Probably not. Continue to think how you've always thought, and continue to get what you've always got.
So step 1 here is this, set aside a specific amount of money you are willing to lose. This is your Bankroll.
Once you have a bankroll established, we need to determine your unit size.
Let's step through an example of what betting looks like with us for a sports bettor who has a bankroll of $5,000.
In order to determine how much money 1 unit is for you, we need to know the maximum amount of money you're willing to bet on one game. This will be your 8 unit bet.
So let's say the most you're willing to bet on one game is $1,000. We're going to divide $1,000/8 = $125. This is your unit size, $125.
For a bankroll of $5K, we do not recommend a max bet of anything higher than $2,000.

Setting Expectations
Alright.. so.. if you've been betting on sports for a while, you've probably heard the infamous phrase “you need to win 57.66% of your bets just to break even” .. that statement is only true under one very big assumption; that you're betting -110 odds (or worse) on every bet, something Blockchain Bets will never, ever do.
You've probably been trying to make money betting -110 odds, every single night. Two things we will never do. You will lose all of your money if you sports bet every single day.
You may be surprised to learn, you do not need a winning record; or even an above 50% winning percentage to be a long term profitable sports bettor.
If you take a look at our records from 2023: we won 113 bets, and lost 130, that's a 47% win percentage. Our NFL record was just 19 — 44. So how did we finish +306 units? Money line underdogs. We can't go into the details of our systems, but we will tell you this, just imagine hitting an 8 unit bet at +250 odds, yeah.. that's a 20 unit win.
In conclusion, we want you to understand that a majority of our bets will be losers, so you have to mentally prepare for that now. This is why there are so few profitable sports bettors, they try to win a majority of the bets they place. Let us be the first to tell you, that's not how you make money in this business.
